In Irvine Welsh's collection of short stories,
If You Liked School You'll Love Work there is a tale of three people returning from the Burning Man Festival in Nevada. If that story is typical of the sort of thing that happens when you go to Burning Man, I do not want to go.

I don't want to go to Burning Man either, but mostly because I'm allergic to neo-hippies.
Is it because of the neo-hippies? Or...?
One man was bitten in a sensitive area by a snake. There was also a car accident and a nasty man waving a gun around. All this after they had sampled some radical neo-hippie drugs. No thanks.
